Being sorry and accepting our fault in front of thousand people is also part of self respect..
Nowadays very misunderstanding between self respect and ego.... accepting egoistic people is also beautiful thing to show your Self respect
Respect everything which you like or passionate to do is also include in Self Respect..
"Self Respect" is not a thing to showcase on "shelf" it should be from your heart
